Who I Am – Trans/Autism documentary film screening and Q/A
Thursday 29th June 2023 : 2pm : Bendigo

We’re proud to be partnering with Who I Am Film to bring you this heartfelt coming-of-age documentary following Aether, a transgender and Autistic teen as he learns to be himself with the help of his own original animated characters, The Fallens. Meanwhile his mother, Anthea, goes on her own journey to embracing her child for all that he is.

Join us for a sensory friendly screening of Who I Am at 2pm on 29 June at Bendigo Cinema, followed by a panel discussion with Aether, Anthea, Naomi and local community members, about why, more than ever, stories like Aether’s need to be told.

All proceeds of this screening will go to Trans and Gender Diverse Bendigo and Beyond, Autism Connect & Minus18 to support projects which improve physical and mental health outcomes of trans, gender diverse and/or Autistic people.

“Beneath the articles and controversy, there are kids like Aether fighting to just be themselves. I believe it’s through stories like Aether’s, by seeing that he’s just like you and me, we can create understanding, build bridges, and hope for a kinder world for kids who are just a little bit different.” – Naomi Ball, Director
